Description of farm:
How it began ...thirty years ago, it was just a hobby of Barbara´s parents, Gertrud and Peter. They urgently felt that they had to do something for the environment and began to grow organic food - on a 500 m² field. Today ... we cultivate 2,5 ha and are glad when there are helping hands. By now the whole family is running the farm. We have only one mechanical helper, the rotary hoe, all other work is done by our hands. Producing a good compost is our aim. In order to have early and long lasting vegetables we also use 3 greenhouses. 80 different kinds of vegetables are grown: grain, potatoes, herbs, berries and some specialities. Anything unmarketable is turned into processed foods. In the farmshop we sell the products of other farmers too. One WWOOFer can learn to grow and to process the vegetables and is needed for all the work on the farm.
